Backblaze Review - Is Backblaze Free Software?
Backblaze is an online storage service for personal and business use. You can back up unlimited amounts of data, but there is a storage limit of 30 days. It costs $6 per month and offers discounts for longer subscriptions. You can access your back-up files on multiple devices, including your mobile phone. You can share your account with up to six people under the same account.
Once you've backed up your files, you can access them through the Backblaze website or mobile apps. You can browse your files and choose which ones to restore. Backblaze will then zip them and email a link to your computer. You don't need to have the Backblaze software installed to restore the data.
Backblaze is a great remote backup service, but it's not perfect. It doesn't back up /usr/local files, and it doesn't work very well on HDD-based systems. Using Backblaze on an SSD-based system may be best. Fortunately, it uses Internet bandwidth efficiently.
Backblaze has updated its mobile apps for iOS and Android. The update is aimed at improving the user interface. The app now features a dashboard to view the progress of your backup. It also includes sharing options. Besides email, Backblaze lets you share files via Facebook and Twitter. It also stores downloaded data in the backblaze domain space on the iPhone and downloads folder on Android.
